Lok Installaties on Pylontech: Reliable and flexible energy storage

Arnold Verhagen has been working for five years as a project planner at Lok Installaties, a loyal and valued customer of Libra Energy. In his role, Arnold is responsible for both electrical and mechanical engineering projects. The service department of Lok Installaties is dynamic and mainly focuses on smaller-scale projects for office buildings, schools, commercial properties and residential clients. In addition, they provide maintenance and management of these installations, ensuring long-term relationships with their customers.
The first installation with Pylontech
About one and a half years ago, Lok Installaties received its first request for a home battery system in Rotterdam, giving them the opportunity to explore energy storage solutions. Selecting the right battery solution turned out to be a thorough process. Lok Installaties noticed that demand for energy storage was increasing, but the market still offered limited suitable options.
Arnold explains: “We wanted a brand-independent solution that works with different inverters and can also operate without solar panels. Battery systems from solar panel brands were often too limited in functionality and too complex in terms of back office and system integration. That’s how we eventually came across Pylontech.”
Safety and reliability as priorities
The choice for Pylontech was logical for several reasons. “Pylontech batteries are modular and can easily be installed in a rack cabinet. The connectors simply click into place without screws, which simplifies the installation process,” Arnold explains. Another key advantage is the scalability of the system. “Many of our customers want to increase their storage capacity later on, and with Pylontech that can be done very easily.”
Safety was also a crucial factor in the decision. Since the battery was installed in a garage, the risk of mechanical damage, for example from a bicycle or car, had to be minimized. “We therefore opted for a solid steel cabinet to safely house the battery system,” Arnold says.
In addition, Pylontech batteries feature multiple built-in safety protections, including temperature protection. This allows the system to limit itself or shut down if necessary in extreme cold conditions. This prevents battery damage and increases overall system reliability.
Satisfied customers and growing demand for Pylontech
The customer in Rotterdam was highly satisfied with the installation. “At first, it really felt like a gadget for him. He could accurately monitor his energy consumption and storage, which is particularly useful with a dynamic energy contract,” Arnold explains.
Since the initial installation in Rotterdam, Lok Installaties has completed approximately twenty projects with Pylontech battery systems, ranging from small to larger-scale installations. The successful collaboration with Libra Energy plays an important role in these projects, with regular contact with Patrick Faber, our account manager.
As for Pylontech, Arnold is enthusiastic about the system’s simplicity and reliability. “Pylontech offers an excellent price-performance ratio. The batteries are easy to install and operate without issues.” He advises other installers to set up a test configuration to experience how the system works. “You just have to try it. We did extensive research, and at some point you need to take the step and get started.”
According to Arnold, Pylontech’s reliability, ease of installation and brand independence make it an excellent choice for energy storage systems.
In addition to Pylontech projects, Lok Installaties continues to work closely with Libra Energy to deliver the best energy storage solutions.
